Shannon Forest Christian School

SCHOOL MISSION

The purpose of Shannon Forest Christian School is to support the Christian home and church by providing quality education from a biblical perspective in order to equip and challenge students to influence culture and society for Jesus Christ.

OVERVIEW

Shannon Forest Christian School began in 1968 with a vision of providing a Christ-centered education that would nurture the Christian values that students were being taught at home and in the church. Today, as a fully accredited college preparatory school serving the entire Christian community, Shannon Forestcontinues to carry on its original mission.

Located on a spacious 50-acre campus in the heart of Greenville's Eastside, Shannon Forest Christian School offers a complete educational program for children in three-year-old pre-school through the twelfth grade.

Under the leadership of a Board of Directors, the school operates as a ministry of Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church. We are an interdenominational school with more than 150 churches and 30 denominations represented by our school families.

At Shannon Forest Christian School, our commitment to excellence is exceeded only by our commitment to Jesus Christ. We seek to enroll students who will flourish in a Christian environment that challenges them spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. Our goal is to maximize each child's God-given potential.

SFPC DEACON SERVANT AWARD

In the fall of 2009, the deacons of Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church (SFPC) setout to establish an award to recognize a rising junior or senior who will be attending Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS). The award honors students for their Christ-like service to their school, church, family, and community around them. Christ-like or Christian service is the selfless giving of one’s time, resources, and energy to help and benefit those around us with the hope that they, the beneficiaries, may praise our Father in heaven with us. The quantity of awards is a function of funding and the number of qualified applicants. It is the desire of the deacons to recognize at least one applicant each year; however, awards will not be granted to unqualified applicants.
