The Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) which is a fun, evangelistic club for boys and girls ages 5 through 12 that meets immediately after school. Shannon Forest Church has partnered with Horizon Church to adopt Mauldin Elementary School as our mission field. Volunteers are trained by CEF to lead a weekly Good News Club in the school's gym Thursday afternoons after school from September through March. Many volunteers are needed for various tasks such as teaching, leading the music, helping with snacks, serving as grade sheperds and most importantly praying. Grade sheperds sit with the children in club, get to know them, listen to their memory verses and prayer requests. Children hear an evangelistic message each week, learn a memory verse, play games, sing songs, have a snack, and have lots of fun!
